15 Minutes ★★½ 2001 (R) New York cop and publicity hound De Niro teams up with arson investigator Burns to hunt down a couple of violent criminals who are videotaping their crimes for celebrity purposes. Is writer/director Herzfeld exploring our culture's fascination with violence, nihilism, and fame, or just using images of those ideas to sell tickets? Most likely it's the latter, but either way, Warhol would probably approve. Grammer tries his hand at playing the sleazy, Jerry Springerish shock-TV host, and mostly pulls it off. 120m/C VHS, DVD, Wide. US Robert De Niro, Edward Burns, Kelsey Grammer, Avery Brooks, Melina Kanakaredes, Vera Farmiga, Karel Roden, Oleg Taktarov, John DiResta, James Handy, Darius McCrary, Charlize Theron, Kim Cattrall, David Alan Grier; Director: John Herzfeld; Writer: John Herzfeld; Writer: Jean-Yves Escoffier; Cameo: Anthony Marinelli, J.
