13 Moons (2002) 13 Moons

13 Moons ★★ 2002 (R) Only a full moon in Los Angeles could pull together several intertwining yet divergent storylines to tell what really is a simple tale of a man, Mo (Proval), whose son, Timmy (Wolff), will die without a kidney transplant. Problem is the donor is a drug addict who flees the hospital. Along with a rag-tag group of otherwise-afflicted folks (including a fired TV clown, a stripper, and a rap executive), Mo must find him…and fast! While the performances evoke a sense of sincerity, the backbone is too weak to support them. 94m/C VHS, DVD. Steve Buscemi, Karyn Parsons, Peter Dinklage, David Proval, Austin Wolff, Daryl (Chill) Mitchell, Rose Rollins, Peter Stormare, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Gareth Williams, Francesco Messina, Jennifer Beals, Elizabeth Bracco, Matthew Sussman, Michael Badalucco, Danny Trejo; Director: Alexandre Rockwell; Writer: Alexandre Rockwell; Writer: Phil Parmet; Cameo: Brian Kelly, Kevin Salem.
